On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, and kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that the happiest girls are the prettiest. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles"
                                                                    -Audrey Hepburn

In honor of the 10th anniversary of the movie Mean Girls and Audrey Hepburn's bday I decided to do a post inspired by the two. I love all things girly especially pink even though I ironically don't wear the color very often. Forever has these extremely versatile crop tops which are probably the biggest street wear trend right now. I have 3 and counting. The pants I bought from ASOS awhile ago I thought the heart print was so cute and different but when I got them I was a little disappointed how big they were. ASOS plus is tricky because a lot of the times the clothes are made 1-2 sizes bigger than the listed size . I was going to get them taken in but one day I decided to just wear them as is and I've been in love ever since!

Going Rouge

" I am wonderfully and fearfully made" - Psalms 139:14

I remember when I first came across the monotone idea in an Elle magazine quite some time ago, I thought it was just too much. But in a burst of my "I'll try anything attitude" I figured, why not?! The concept is to create your outfit with shades of one color. It takes practice and a sense of proportion but I think it came out cute. Two of my favorite trends right now are sneaker wedges and peplum silhouette. I will admit, the hype around these two have died down a bit but for now as long as they keep making em' I'll keep buying. Sneaker wedges are surprisingly really comfortable and versatile I have 4 pairs and counting. And although it seems like a shirt that illuminates your hips would be a no go for us blessed fashionistas; they are surprisingly quite flattering. Be alarmed however, your boyfriend will probably ask you why you're wearing a tutu lol.

Drifting

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest
fear is that we are powerful beyond measures"
                                                    - Marianne Williamson

Thanks to fearless veteran bloggers like Gabi Gregg and Nadia Aboulhosn, plus sized fashionistas everywhere can breathe a sigh of relief in knowledge that yes we too can pull off the mid drift trend. Its all about showing the right amount of skin so people are aware it's purposeful but it doesn't just look like your shirt is ill fitting. And for us curvy girls the high wasted trend is the perfect counter part for it. I added the combat boots and bull horn necklace to give my outfit a little more edge. =)
